Virgo is an interesting medley of influences. As a sign ruled by Mercury, they appreciate strong communication, they are a curious sign and also a somewhat evasive zodiac sign that looks to avoid conflict, understand relationships, and analyze. 

Now, as an earth sign, there’s also a sensual pleasure seeking nature to Virgo. Virgo are not numb to the pleasures of the material world, and they want to have a full bodied relationship that encompasses strong communication, enjoyment of nature, and a love of the simple things in life. Now, this is the best match for Virgo. As I’ve mentioned, Pisces have the elements of being quite enchanting, funny, intriguing, and adventurous, while also having emotional depth. Pisces are good mind readers, they are not overtly expressive; they take a laid-back approach to life, which Virgo appreciates. 

What’s great about Pisces as a partner is they can understand the deeper elements of the Virgo nature without Virgo having to spell it out. This kind of subtle psychic understanding is what makes these two click. There’s a kind of connection that goes beyond words, and that’s great for a soulmate connection. 

What’s powerful in this mix, is that Pisces can keep the relationship lively, as they are a changeable, versatile sign with a flexible approach to life. Pisces are also great at creating ways to stimulate the Virgo and help them escape, as Virgo’s prone to stress and needs help disconnecting.

Virgo and Sagittarius

Now, this is a pretty awesome match because Virgo have an ambitious and adventurous side that not a lot of people understand, and Virgo are also not very rooted, so, like Sagittarius, they like to take off at a moment’s notice and they may find themselves at home in a foreign country. They are pretty happy to have a cross-cultural relationship, and they like the fact that Sagittarius are always moving forward with life. What’s great is Virgo can be a little bit perfectionistic and self-critical, and in that way they hold themselves back. They are almost too modest. Ideally Sagittarius are the total opposite, they are quite gregarious, they sometimes exaggerate, and they have a fiery spirit that helps boost Virgo’s confidence and add a more outgoing, devil-may-care attitude to the relationship. This compensates for the fact that, as an earth sign, Virgo’s a little bit too conservative at times.

I certainly like this mixture. Both these signs are of the mutable element, and they’re both ruled by Mercury, so as you can see, there’s a meeting of the minds. There’s an immediate compatibility in the way they need to constantly find new avenues of interest in life, reason things through logically, and be entertaining. There’s also an enjoyment of social life and the work world, and they may enjoy talking about their work projects. 

What worries me about this match is both signs can be workaholics. They are prone to stress and can be very highly strung, so both of them really need to find ways to relax and switch off. 

This partnership can’t live in each other’s pockets. They must have space so that they can both burn off that nervous energy. Sometimes energy is lacking in terms of affection, but what’s great is with Virgo being an earth sign, they know how to draw out the sensuality in Gemini. Their love languages are communication and gifting, which are important to them both, meaning there’s harmony. 

Virgo and Scorpio 

The Scorpio match is quite tantalizing. Here we have two signs that are extremely honest and analytical about life. Both of them have oodles of self-awareness and self-control. We also have two star signs that are fairly modest and have a very introverted side, and we have two perfectionists. So immediately, there’s so much about this pair that means they respect each other. They will trust each other, and they’ll want to work very hard to make a relationship work. 

The earthiness of Virgo and that enjoyment of the little things in life, along with Scorpio’s charisma and more intense, dramatic energy, is a really good mix. In the bedroom, Virgo can be quite experimental, so they’re great for Scorpio. In terms of sex life, this has an X factor.

Similar to Gemini, Virgo has to watch out for stress. Sometimes, two perfectionists together can drive each other mad, and so they really have to have separate areas of the house to chill in or dominate and they should compartmentalize their life. 

Least Compatible Signs with Virgo 

Virgo and Aquarius 

I say that this is an unfavorable match with some degree of caution, because there are definitely reasons why these two can come together successfully. They make good work colleagues; there’s an element of respect. Sexually, this relationship can have a powerful chemistry that draws each other together. 

Why I feel this relationship won’t work is both have a lot of insecurities and social anxiety. When two Sun signs come together who are naturally slightly shy, have introverted signs, or have a quirky, eccentric part of their nature, it can either work very well, or they can annoy each other, leading to a stressful relationship with loads of bickering. Sometimes Aquarius finds Virgo a little bit small-minded and pedantic, and often Virgo finds Aquarius just a little bit too “out there” and doesn’t like some of their more crazy ideas. 

Virgo and Taurus 

On the surface, there’s not much wrong with this match. The earth signs are compatible, both are productive, helpful people who like to work hard at relationships. Both Zodiac Signs have an enormous amount of patience; they are likely to resolve problems and communicate well. They enjoy each other’s sense of humor. Romantically, it can be quite an enjoyable match. 

But the big problem here is both of them are avoidant. Both signs can be a little bit passive, and they both tend to people-please. Over time, they may both have resentment and feel they are doing more than enough in the relationship, and they aren’t honest enough with each other about what they truly want and need. Both can be too shy in pushing for what they want, and therefore the relationship can end up being unfulfilling. 

Virgo and Virgo 

Why I think this match is not ideal is because there is so much backchat. Sometimes they undermine each other. They analyze things to death and they criticize each other constantly. Because Virgo can be naturally self-critical in a relationship, they are very vulnerable to being criticized by a partner, and sometimes they can project their relationship anxiety onto a partner.

They can be a little bit too modest, and they don’t always understand how they have to feed the relationship by constantly acknowledging each other’s contributions, offering words of healing, trying to soothe each other, and acknowledging each other’s talents and traits. 

If both signs remember to keep reassuring and complimenting the other, this can be good. But very often, they both get bogged down in work, they fail to see each other, and the relationship flounders. 

Virgo’s Compatibility with All the Zodiac Signs 

Virgo and Aries – Low to Moderate 

This cosmic relationship has problematic issues with love language compatibility and communication. They can both become impatient and frustrated with each other. While there is conscientiousness and a desire to make this work, over time it may prove too difficult, with too many bones of contention. 

Virgo are more patient, considered, and conflict-avoiding, and while they like Aries’ honesty, they can be very frustrated with the way Aries tackles life. Both their love languages and their communication styles are very different. Aries can make Virgo feel insecure and uptight, and Aries can find Virgo a little bit standoffish. The more the relationship goes on, the more they bring out the defensive side in each other, meaning problems are less likely to be resolved. 

Sexually this relationship does have the potential to WOW and so it’s not all rocky. It’s also a wonderful combination for couples who enjoy fitness and healthy lifestyles or working with animals as both signs are naturally geared to protect and preserve.

Virgo and Taurus – Moderate to low Compatibility 

As two earth signs, this pair sees eye to eye on many issues, but they are rarely attracted to each other socially. They may be friends or colleagues but with low desire to elevate the relationship. They work well together in business, but they may feel something’s lacking and experience FOMO due to the lack of intensity and passion. 

Both can feel unfulfilled as they both tend to sacrifice and could lose sight of their dreams. There’s a mismatch of love languages and they may both take each other for granted, and while the relationship may look good on the surface, both may feel there’s just a lack of passion and spice, which makes the relationship lackluster and too predictable.

Virgo and Gemini – High Compatibility

I really like this match because it’s stimulating and also empowering for both of them. What’s strong about this combination is that they don’t crowd or suffocate each other. Both signs are fairly self-sufficient emotionally, which means that they can both work together and also appreciate each other’s need to blow off steam and have interests outside the relationship. 

One of the problems with this relationship is that it’s quite stressful. There are times when they can both burn out mentally from overwork and not paying attention to holistically managing their lives.

Virgo and Cancer – Moderate Compatibility 

Here we have two signs who are conscientious, diligent, and who will nurture and protect each other. This match often involves people who are friends, colleagues, or share mutual interests. 

The communication element is usually fairly strong. Cancer likes the fact that Virgo is an honest broker and a constructive provider in the relationship. Virgo feels happy in the company of Cancer, as the atmosphere is congenial and laid back. One thing the couple may lack is sensual pleasure and chemistry. This couple can lack the patience to work on problems. Sometimes, this zodiac pair also likes to indulge in order to escape, and they can be terrible procrastinators together, which can lead to some problems mounting up.

Virgo and Virgo – Moderate to Low Compatibility 

Now, this relationship works well initially, as both are willing to put in effort. If there is strong compatibility between the moon signs, Venus signs, and ascendants, there’s no reason why it can’t be a loving match. But one of the problems with these two is it’s brittle. Virgo doesn’t suffer fools gladly; it doesn’t take Virgo a lot to walk away from a relationship if they think it’s gone bad. Virgos can be quite critical and clinical, and they will cut ties quite quickly once a certain threshold has been passed. 

Because both are prepared to walk away, there isn’t the resilience required in this match. They can also bring too many other issues to the table that cannot be effectively worked out together, as both avoid emotional matters as they prioritize working through the facts. Both might be workaholics, which can also detract from the relationship becoming deeper and developing more holistic benefits.

Virgo and Libra – Moderate Compatibility 

This match certainly has elements that make it very much a transformative and spiritual relationship. They can have a deep level of underlying compatibility, something that’s not immediately noticeable. If this pair can get over their initial skepticism about whether the relationship can be successful, they also have treasures to gain. They can help each other in terms of self-esteem, which is very important for Virgo. Libra can bring a certain resilience and the potential to mine untapped talents to Virgo. Virgo can help Libra with the calm, grounded reassurance that Libra so much craves. 

The problem is Virgo are not decisive, overtly affectionate, or very proactive, which is disconcerting for Libra. The problem for Libra is that they are not quite as adaptable and flexible as Virgo; their stubbornness might upset the apple cart.

This can be a fabulous relationship, but it’s not always fun. Where it’s strong is in terms of trust, cooperation, the bedroom, and also in terms of communication. However, there can be a little bit of playfulness and affection lacking. Sometimes they both take each other and life too seriously. 

The message with this couple is: lighten up, find time to release angst, and enjoy yourselves as this can be a great relationship.

Virgo and Sagittarius – High Compatibility

This is one of my favorite matches for Virgo, and that is because people think of Virgo as being the modest, perfectionist of the zodiac, but more than that, they are adventure seekers and nature lovers. They also have a desire to keep their lives healthy, and they are quite interested in competitive, outdoorsy activities. That is why this combination is excellent. 

Sagittarius is very much a sign associated with the great outdoors, they are animal lovers who enjoy doing things that have environmental impact, travel, or outdoor components. That’s where these two come into their own. But it doesn’t just have to be outdoorsy; they are always looking to expand their minds and love knowledge. Therefore, the way they relax is often through information gathering, learning, and studying together. 

It’s not the most touchy-feely of relationships, but it certainly has a lot of adrenaline and fulfillment available.

Virgo and Capricorn – Moderate Compatibility 

Here we have two earth signs, also two signs that are quite emotionally self-sufficient, stable, hard-working, and conscientious. Together, it’s likely that they will have a pragmatic and responsible approach to the relationship. 

One of the problems with this match is that there can be a lack of energy, vitality, and excitement. Sometimes it’s all very good, but there’s a hint that something is lacking. As you can see, both of them have what the other needs. Tips for Dating a Virgo 

Don’t go into deep emotional territory at first, as you don’t want to overwhelm Virgo. Virgo can feel a little bit uncomfortable when people are oversharing at the beginning of the relationship. 

Being dramatic or coming on too strong is also important to avoid. Be careful not to be aggressive with Virgo. Don’t show them everything you’ve got either; be a bit of a poker player so that you make them curious to know more about you. With Virgo, it’s important to be clear in your communication. Honesty and integrity are everything. Curious combinations that could work include Libra and Aries. Although these have aspects that can lead to a lot of self-doubt and self-criticism, with patience and understanding, they can create a meaningful connection with Virgo.
